My Review
I can't remember when last I read a book that had my blood boiling by the second chapter. And boil it did! This is another book (I've read a few lately) where I wanted to shout at the characters, grab their shoulders and shake them until their brains rattled in their skulls and ask them just what exactly they think they're doing. Personally, I couldn't begin to fathom why Sal chose to stay in such a crazy relationship. Without getting into the psychology behind why abused individuals stay in abusive relationships, a topic that I'm definitely not qualified to discuss, all I can say is that this book had my emotions churning within the first ten pages. I was totally gripped by this story. I read it over a weekend, picking up the book whenever I had a spare moment.
A lot has been made about the twist at the end of this book. Being a psychological thriller, I knew that there had to be some sort of twist but let me also jump onto the bandwagon and say, wow, I didn't see the end coming. It was a genuine shock. From what I've read, most readers never guessed the ending, and that is a true feat by the author. In a world filled with psychological thrillers, this must be very difficult to do. I loved this book. It's a stunner! Buy it, read it, and let me know what you think.
